Samsung Announces One UI 8 Update for Galaxy S Series Devices

Samsung has announced the release of its One UI 8 update, built on Android 16, for a range of Galaxy S series smartphones. The rollout will commence with the Galaxy S25 series in September 2025, followed by other eligible models.

The Galaxy S25 lineup, including the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge, will be the first to receive the stable One UI 8 update. Subsequent devices slated for the update encompass the Galaxy S24 series (S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE), Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE), Galaxy S22 series (S22, S22+, S22 Ultra), and the Galaxy S21 FE.

For some models, such as the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy S21 FE, One UI 8 will represent the final major operating system upgrade. These devices will continue to receive security updates but will not be eligible for future Android versions or One UI feature updates beyond One UI 8.5, expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series in 2026.

Users of Galaxy smartphones outside the S series can consult Samsung's official software update policy to determine their device's eligibility for the One UI 8 update.
