Documentary on Elizabeth Holmes Debuts at Telluride Festival
A new documentary titled "You Can See Everything," co-produced by Nathan Fielder and director Lance Oppenheim, premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, offering unprecedented access to Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes before her imprisonment.
A24 released a documentary that follows Elizabeth Holmes in the weeks before she began serving a prison sentence for fraud convictions. The film, titled You Can See Everything, was produced over three years by comedian-filmmaker Nathan Fielder and director Lance Oppenheim, and it includes extensive footage of Holmes interacting with the crew.
The official synopsis describes the project as beginning "34 days before she’s sent to prison" and evolving into a three-year exploration of Holmes’s life. Holmes, who was convicted in January 2022 on four counts of fraud and conspiracy related to her biotech company Theranos, has been serving an 11-year sentence since May 2023.
A teaser trailer released on Monday shows Fielder interviewing Holmes, during which she asserts she is being truthful. > "I don’t have anything to deceive you on," Holmes says in the clip. > "I’m always being real," she adds when prompted.
The documentary premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, where audience members were required to lock phones in pouches and were monitored for device use. After the screening, Fielder and Oppenheim appeared onstage; Fielder said he was still trying to understand his experience making the film.
You Can See Everything is scheduled for theatrical release in October. Holmes’s scheduled release date from federal prison is March 19, 2032.
