Actor Bruce Campbell Says Doctors Gave Him a Five-Year Prognosis

摘要

Bruce Campbell disclosed on a podcast that doctors have given him a five-year life expectancy after a cancer diagnosis, but he plans to continue working and promoting his new film.

Bruce Campbell told listeners of The Adam Carolla Show on Sept. 2 that doctors have given him a five-year prognosis for his cancer, though he did not specify the type. He said he intends to live with the disease rather than let it dictate his life.

"With the type of cancer that I have, which I don’t want to get into, the current thing is a five-year deal," Campbell said. "I’ve decided pretty specifically though to live with it, not die from it."

Campbell, who was promoting his upcoming film Ernie & Emma, emphasized that a diagnosis does not require him to halt his professional activities. He noted that treatment will temporarily limit appearances at conventions and other engagements, but he aims to resume touring with the movie in the fall.

In a March social-media post, Campbell described his condition as “treatable, not curable,” and said he would not provide further medical details. He expressed a desire to focus on recovery over the summer so he can continue working.

"You don’t die from cancer, you die from what cancer does to you," he added, underscoring his resolve to manage the illness and move forward.
