Texas coach comments on Michigan fans storming field after win over Western Michigan

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said he was surprised that Michigan fans stormed the field following the Wolverines' win over Western Michigan in the season opener. > "I think the thing that shocked me most was that they stormed the field. That was a surprise," he told reporters on Monday.

Michigan appeared to be on the brink of a loss when quarterback Bryce Underwood's Hail Mary pass fell short as time expired. After officials added one second back to the clock, Underwood threw again and connected with receiver JJ Buchanan for a touchdown that secured the win.

The touchdown prompted a large group of fans to rush the field at Michigan Stadium, despite the Wolverines entering the game as 27.5-point favorites.
