Ciara and Russell Wilson Expect Fifth Child, Ending 'Cinco' Campaign
Singer Ciara and quarterback Russell Wilson announced they are expecting their fifth child together, concluding the quarterback's long-running public push for a fifth baby.
Ciara confirmed on Sunday, Sept. 6, that she is pregnant with her fifth child, sharing a joint Instagram post that read, "One more person to Love." The announcement featured photos of her baby bump and a clothesline displaying four white shirts labeled with the names of her existing children—Future, Sienna, Win and Amora—plus a blank onesie for the upcoming baby.
Russell Wilson had been publicly advocating for a fifth child for nearly two years, referring to the goal as "Cinco" in interviews, including a July appearance at Fanatics Fest where he said he was trying to convince his wife and that "Cinco, you got to be on the way soon." The couple’s fifth child will be Ciara’s fourth with Wilson; she also has a son, Future Zahir, 12, from a previous relationship.
Friends and family quickly responded to the news, with fellow athletes and entertainers offering congratulations. The couple, married since July 2016, have previously balanced parenting with Ciara’s touring schedule, noting that her children often travel with her on tour.
Fans have praised the creative reveal, noting the blank onesie suggests the baby’s name has yet to be decided.
