The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $1 billion for the upcoming drawing on Saturday, August 30, marking it as the sixth time in Powerball history that the jackpot has reached the billion-dollar milestone.

The jackpot has been steadily growing throughout the summer, with no winners since May 31, 2025, making Saturday’s drawing the 39th consecutive one without a jackpot winner.

The Powerball drawing will occur at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio and will be streamed on the Powerball website and televised nationwide.

Tickets are available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and cost $2 per play. An optional $1 Power Play increases non-jackpot prizes, though the 10X multiplier is only available when the jackpot is $150 million or less. The purchase deadline varies by state. Players select five white ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

The top Powerball jackpot was $2.04 billion on Nov. 7, 2022.
