Andrea Kimi Antonelli claimed victory at Monza, moving from 19th on the grid to beat teammate George Russell, while Max Verstappen finished third.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli secured a home win at the Italian Grand Prix, climbing from 19th on the grid to finish ahead of Mercedes teammate George Russell. The race featured an early incident when Lewis Hamilton attempted an inside pass on Charles Leclerc at Turn 1, resulting in Hamilton dropping to tenth. Leclerc later crashed at the Parabolica exit, prompting a red-flag period and a mandatory tyre change for all drivers.

After the restart, Russell took the lead from pole-sitter Pierre Gasly, while Max Verstappen and Franco Colapinto moved into third and fourth. A series of overtakes saw Antonelli advance rapidly, passing several rivals including Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. By lap 18 he had taken the lead from Russell, though the lead changed hands several times before Antonelli reclaimed it on lap 49 and held on to the finish.

Verstappen finished third, completing the podium. Lando Norris claimed fourth place, with Hamilton sixth. Gasly, who started on pole, ended the race seventh. Antonelli became the first Italian winner at Monza in six decades and extended his championship lead to seven points over Russell ahead of the next round in Spain.

"We are very happy with the result and proud to bring a win to Italy," Antonelli said after the race.

Mercedes team principal said the performance demonstrated the team's resilience after a challenging start.

The race was marked by multiple safety-car periods, tyre strategy shifts, and several on-track battles that shaped the final order.
