Rodgers says he hopes to support pregnant wife after likely final NFL season

Résumé

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, set to play his likely last season with the Steelers, said he aims to be supporting a pregnant wife by next year as he plans for life after football.

Aaron Rodgers is entering what is expected to be his final NFL season after signing a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 42-year-old quarterback told SiriusXM’s “Mad Dog Radio” that he hopes to be supporting a pregnant wife by this time next year and looks forward to a quieter life after more than two decades in professional football.

Rodgers said he wants to focus on healing his body and building a family, adding that recent reconnections with relatives have increased his excitement about having children of his own. He described enjoying time spent with his brother’s children and said the experience has heightened his anticipation for parenthood.

"I'm hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we're going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements," Rodgers said.

"I’m looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting my body healed up and working on a family. That's what I’m looking forward to," he added.

"I’m definitely excited about it… I can’t wait for that next chapter of life and all that it entails, the sleepless nights, crying babies and changing diapers," Rodgers said.
