Robert Pattinson and cast debut new thriller "Primetime" at Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival showcased the world premiere of "Primetime," the narrative feature debut of director Lance Oppenheim. The thriller, inspired by the real-life "To Catch a Predator" program, follows a 2006 television host portrayed by Robert Pattinson as he navigates the high-stakes world of a popular true-crime show. The cast also includes Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Phoebe Bridgers and other notable guests such as Alex Winter, Ari Aster, Bokeem Woodbine and Suki Waterhouse.

The film examines the interplay of moral crusading, producer ambition and aspiring talent, depicting how the pursuit of ratings can impact individuals involved in the media apparatus. Attendees on the red carpet were photographed alongside the cast and crew as the festival highlighted the new release.

"I hope it’s some kind of compliment," Pattinson said in reference to the film’s portrayal of the controversial host.
