Google Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL reviewed after three weeks of use

Resumen

The reviewer finds the Pixel 11 Pro series solid despite slower charging, limited RAM and underwhelming new features, praising its camera, software and overall user experience.

After three weeks of daily use, the Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are seen as reliable flagship smartphones, though they fall short in several high-profile areas. Both models launch at $1,099 and $1,299 respectively and ship with 12 GB of RAM, a Tensor G6 processor and 30 W (Pro) or 45 W (Pro XL) wired charging.

The reviewer notes three major disappointments. The rear-mounted HiLight indicator, intended to signal calls and Gemini interactions, offers only basic functionality and lacks out-of-the-box notification support. Proactive Assistance, which should surface contextual shortcuts, never provided a useful suggestion during the test period. Charging speeds are comparable to the previous generation, with the Pro taking about 86 minutes for a full charge and the Pro XL about 64 minutes, lagging behind competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Performance of the Tensor G6 chip is described as “snappy” for everyday tasks and gaming, but benchmark data show it trails the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in CPU and GPU metrics. Efficiency gains are evident, however, with the smaller batteries delivering longer screen-on time than the prior-year models.

Positive aspects highlighted include the refined design, improved scratch-resistant glass, a high-quality 6.3-inch display with up to 3,600 nits brightness and variable 1-120 Hz refresh rate, and the continuation of built-in magnets for accessories. The camera system retains a 50 MP main sensor and adds a brighter 48 MP telephoto lens with 5× optical zoom, delivering strong results across a range of lighting conditions. New software features such as Camera Looks, the Rambler voice-typing mode in Gboard, and the Pause Point digital-wellbeing tool received favorable remarks.

The reviewer concludes that while the Pixel 11 Pro series is not a perfect phone—citing the limited RAM, modest performance gains, and charging issues—it offers a compelling package of build quality, camera capability and Google’s polished Android experience, making it a worthwhile purchase for most users.

"Pixels aren’t the only Android phones promised seven years of OS upgrades, but they do receive them the fastest," the reviewer writes. "If you already have a Pixel 10 Pro, there’s no reason to upgrade this year," the reviewer adds.
