Maria Bartiromo departs Fox News after 12 years

Resumen

Fox News announced that longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo will leave the network as it rebrands her programs, ending her more than a decade tenure.

Fox News said on Thursday that Maria Bartiromo, who has been with the network since 2014, will exit the channel as the company restructures her shows. A network spokesperson thanked her for "her work over the last 12 1/2 years" and wished her success in her next endeavors.

Bartiromo, who previously anchored at CNBC, hosted "Mornings with Maria" and other programs on Fox Business and the Fox News Channel. Those shows will be rebranded and will feature a rotating lineup of anchors.

Her on-air commentary after the 2020 presidential election was cited in two defamation lawsuits filed by voting-technology companies against Fox News. One case, involving Dominion Voting Systems, was settled by the network for more than $787 million shortly before trial. The other suit, filed by a separate voting-software firm, also references statements made on her program. Until her departure, Bartiromo was the only individual defendant still employed by Fox News in the litigation.
