Maria Bartiromo exits Fox News and Fox Business after 12½ years
Maria Bartiromo's departure from Fox News and Fox Business Network was announced Thursday, with the networks citing gratitude for her service and outlining programming changes.
Maria Bartiromo left Fox News and Fox Business Network effective immediately, the companies said on Thursday. Fox issued a statement thanking her for more than 12 ½ years of work and wishing her success in future endeavors.
The announcement came after her final episode of "Mornings With Maria" aired on Thursday, and the network has not provided a specific reason for her exit. Starting Friday, the "Mornings With Fox Business" slot will feature rotating anchors, and "Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street" will be rebranded as "Wall Street" with Cheryl Casone and other rotating hosts.
Fox also indicated that its Sunday program "Morning Futures" will be hosted by former congressman Jason Chaffetz, with a permanent host to be named later, and that a new weekday schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
Bartiromo, who moved to Fox from CNBC in 2013 after anchoring shows such as "On the Money" and "Closing Bell," has been a regular presence on both Fox Business and Fox News, co-hosting a presidential debate in 2016. She has previously interviewed President Donald Trump on her program.
