Carla Jeffery, the actress best known for playing Bree in Disney's "Zombies" franchise, died on Tuesday at the age of 33, her manager announced on social media. Jeffery, born July 10, 1993 in Houston, began acting at 12 and appeared in a range of television shows and films, including "Phat Girlz," "iCarly," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Good Luck Charlie" and the three "Zombies" movies, as well as voicing the character in the animated series.
"It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Carla Jeffery," manager Carla Alexander wrote, adding that the family requested privacy for Jeffery's relatives.
The cause of death has not been released, and representatives did not respond to inquiries. Jeffery had been open about living with epilepsy, speaking to the Epilepsy Foundation in 2022 about her experiences on set and encouraging others with disabilities to pursue their goals. She previously recounted a seizure on the set of "Zombies" that led her to publicly discuss the condition.
Jeffery's career spanned more than two decades, and she was recognized for her contributions to youth-oriented programming and for advocating disability awareness.
