सारांश

Tim Curry, 80, died of coronary artery disease with contributing stroke and kidney cancer, according to Los Angeles County health records.

Tim Curry, the British actor best known for playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," died on Aug. 25 at age 80. Los Angeles County Department of Public Health records list coronary artery disease as the primary cause of death, with a history of stroke and kidney cancer noted as contributing factors. No surgeries were performed for any of these conditions, the documents show.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed a death investigation was opened after officers responded to a call at the 10500 block of La Maida Street on Aug. 25 at 11:23 p.m. The investigation report has been completed.

Curry had suffered a major stroke in 2012, which left him partially paralyzed and reliant on a wheelchair. He later discussed the experience in a 2025 interview, describing the medical emergency and its lasting impact on his mobility and speech. At a 2025 "Rocky Horror" anniversary screening, he told the audience he still could not walk and faced ongoing limitations.

Curry's career included roles in "Annie," "Clue," "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," "Muppet Treasure Island" and the television miniseries "It."
