Lane Kiffin Faces Criticism Over LSU Roster Additions and Coaching Decisions
LSU head coach Lane Kiffin added two former NFL players to the team after a court order, prompting former player Breiden Fehoko to call for changes in the coach's advisory circle.
LSU head coach Lane Kiffin added former NFL players Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris to the Tigers’ roster after a Louisiana judge issued a temporary restraining order allowing the moves. The additions have drawn scrutiny from the SEC, which is considering disciplinary actions that could include fines or voting-rights penalties, with a hearing set for Thursday.
Former LSU nose tackle Breiden Fehoko posted a video criticizing Kiffin’s inner circle, saying anyone who tells the coach he is “doing all the right things” should be fired and urging him to surround himself with honest advisers. > "Anyone in Lane Kiffin's circle who tells him every day 'you are doing all the right things' needs to be fired," Fehoko wrote.
Fehoko also characterized Kiffin as a coach who thrives on controversy and negative attention, noting the coach’s history of high-profile departures, including from Ole Miss before its College Football Playoff run and from Tennessee to USC in 2010.
Other roster moves include former Notre Dame defensive end Junior Tuihalamaka practicing with LSU after his eligibility expired, and former LSU defensive end Jack Pyburn being claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs after a waiver from Tampa Bay.
The situation has kept Kiffin in the spotlight ahead of LSU’s opening game against Clemson, reinforcing his reputation as a polarizing figure in college football.
