Google pushes September 2026 security update to Pixel 11 devices ahead of Android 17 QPR1

Resumen

Pixel 11 series phones received an out-of-cycle OTA delivering a September 1, 2026 security patch, separate from the upcoming Android 17 QPR1 release.

Google began rolling out an out-of-cycle over-the-air update to Pixel 11 series devices on Tuesday afternoon, delivering the build CD1A.260905.001.A1, which supersedes the prior CD1A.260714.001.A9 version. The update is labeled with a security level of September 1, 2026, and includes a generic message that it fixes critical bugs and improves performance and stability.

The OTA, reported to be under 100 MB, targets the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. As of the update’s release, Google had not published corresponding factory or OTA images.

The patch is not the anticipated Android 17 QPR1, as visual changes expected in that version are absent. Analysts suggest the update serves as a hot-patch to address issues identified since the Pixel 11 launch, prompting Google to issue it before the full Android 17 QPR1 rollout later in September.
