Cincinnati Bengals add 11 players to practice squad, plan further moves

Summary

The Bengals signed 11 players to their practice squad and expect to add tight end Tanner Hudson, while other teams claimed former Bengals players.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced they have signed 11 players to their practice squad, leaving five spots open as they anticipate adding tight end Tanner Hudson on Tuesday. The team kept Hudson on the 53-man roster after acquiring offensive tackle Myles Hinton via waiver claim, which required a roster cut. Officials indicated the move allows the club to retain Hudson without exposing other players to waivers.

The newly signed practice squad members include running backs Kentrel Bullock and Kendall Milton, quarterback Sean Clifford, defensive tackle Howard Cross III, defensive end Isaiah Foskey, linebackers Joe Giles-Harris and Shaka Heyward, cornerback Bralyn Lux, wide receivers Jordan Moore and Noah Thomas, and safety Russ Yeast.

All 30 players waived on Sunday cleared waivers, but the Bengals lost tight end Cam Grandy, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings, and wide receiver Mitch Tinsley, who joined the Houston Texans. Coach Zac Taylor said he would like to see tight end Josh Johnson on the roster, praising his professionalism, but noted the team may give him time to find a spot on another 53-man roster.

The Bengals expect to fill the remaining practice squad positions in the coming days as they monitor moves by other NFL teams.
