Local residents in the Cotswolds express caution over Prince Harry and Meghan's planned move
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield says Cotswold locals prefer the Sussexes keep a low profile as they reportedly search for a home in the area.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Page Six that residents of the North Cotswolds are not enthusiastic about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s possible relocation to the region. She said the community traditionally welcomes high-profile individuals on the condition that they do not create a public spectacle, and that locals tend to be indifferent to fame, noting that even well-known figures such as Liam Gallagher can be seen in local pubs without drawing attention. Schofield added that the area is strongly royalist, which makes the Sussexes’ arrival different from that of typical celebrities. According to an unnamed neighbor, locals advise Harry to keep a low profile and allow his family to settle quietly, with one source reportedly suggesting he “shut up for at least eight months.” The commentator urged the couple to be “incredibly boring” and avoid bringing a “circus” to the community, emphasizing that while the region is accustomed to celebrities, the Sussexes often generate headlines wherever they go. She noted that any attempt to protect privacy would be undermined if the couple continues to attract media attention. Earlier reports indicated that Harry and Meghan have been house hunting in the Cotswolds, near Highgrove, the residence of King Charles III. Sources said the move is intended to bring their children closer to the monarch, who disclosed a cancer diagnosis in 2024. The couple arrived in the UK last week after leaving their Montecito home and are reportedly receiving assistance from hedge-fund billionaire Ian Wace.
