Enes Freedom ejected after confrontation with WNBA player Natasha Cloud at Chicago Sky game

Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from a Chicago Sky game on Sunday after a confrontation with guard Natasha Cloud. Security officials determined that Freedom moved toward the court after extending his arms and pointing at Cloud, prompting immediate removal under the WNBA Fan Code of Conduct, which allows instant ejection for attempts to enter the playing area.

The incident occurred in the third quarter when Cloud, after scoring, approached the baseline and exchanged profanities with Freedom, who said he was there to "protect women." Security and arena police intervened, and Freedom was escorted out while Cloud remained in the game.

Chicago Sky owner Michael Alter said the advance text from Freedom’s manager requesting a "heads up" was interpreted as a warning of potential trouble. Although the Sky allowed Freedom entry, staff were instructed not to engage with him. After the ejection, the Sky announced that Freedom is banned from future games at Wintrust Arena unless he can demonstrate compliance with arena rules.

Freedom later sent a letter to WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert requesting a review of the ejection, an explanation of Cloud’s conduct, a refund for his tickets, and preservation of video and security reports. He also indicated that he and his legal team may pursue action against the Sky organization.

The game, which drew 3.31 million viewers across NBC and Peacock, became the most-watched regular-season WNBA contest since the league’s inaugural season. The league has not released a public disciplinary decision regarding Cloud’s behavior.
