Apple TV subscription price rises to $14.99 per month in the United States

Resumen

Apple announced a price increase for its streaming service, raising the monthly fee to $14.99 and the annual fee to $119 effective Aug. 28, with similar adjustments to the Apple One bundle.

Apple will raise the cost of its streaming service for U.S. customers starting Friday, Aug. 28. The monthly subscription will increase to $14.99, up from $12.99, and the annual plan will rise to $119, up from $99. Apple said existing subscribers will receive notice about the change roughly a month before the new charge takes effect.

The adjustment marks the fourth price increase since the service launched in 2019, when the monthly fee was $4.99. At that time the content library was limited, but the service now offers more than 300 original series and movies, including titles such as "Ted Lasso," "The Morning Show" and "Widow’s Bay."

"Apple’s pricing reflects the expanded content and value of the service," a company spokesperson said.

Apple also raised the price of the individual tier of its Apple One bundle, which includes Apple TV, Apple Music, iCloud+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+, from $19.95 to $21.95 per month. The move follows similar price hikes by other major streaming platforms over the past two years.
