Tony Romo charged with additional citations following Milwaukee OWI arrest

Resumen

Former NFL quarterback and CBS analyst Tony Romo faces three new citations related to his recent operating-while-intoxicated arrest in Milwaukee.

More than a month after his arrest on suspicion of operating while intoxicated in Milwaukee, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has been issued three additional citations. The Milwaukee district attorney’s office charged Romo with a first-offense OWI, unsafe passing on the right, and possession of open intoxicants in his vehicle.

CBS placed Romo on leave eight days after the arrest and promoted former teammate J.J. Watt to the network’s lead broadcast team for the remainder of the season. Romo’s contract with CBS runs for four more years and is valued at $72 million. The network could seek to terminate the agreement for cause, though any resolution would depend on further negotiations.

"We are pursuing the appropriate legal actions based on the evidence," a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office said.
