Packers running back Josh Jacobs faces misdemeanor charges after domestic incident captured on video
Josh Jacobs has been charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property following a domestic dispute that may be recorded by home surveillance, prompting statements from the Packers and his legal team.
Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property after a domestic incident at his residence, according to a police report. The report states that Jacobs allegedly grabbed a woman, threw her to the ground, causing a head injury, and then took her phone before she attempted to re-enter the house. Surveillance footage from Jacobs’s home is believed to have captured part of the altercation.
The Green Bay Packers issued a brief statement acknowledging awareness of the charges and said the team will cooperate with the NFL while the matter proceeds. The organization declined to comment further.
Jacobs’s attorney said the Brown County District Attorney reviewed the evidence and filed misdemeanor charges that do not include domestic-violence counts. The lawyer added that the allegations will be addressed in court rather than through media coverage.
Under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy, players can face disciplinary action for off-field misconduct, including domestic incidents. The league typically imposes a minimum six-game suspension for such cases, either through a settlement in which the player accepts responsibility or following an independent investigation.
