U.S. officials say Iranian drones and missiles have struck CIA outposts in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, causing damage estimated in the billions of dollars.

U.S. intelligence assets in the Middle East have suffered extensive damage after Iranian drones and missiles hit several CIA facilities, according to a report citing unnamed sources. The attacks on a CIA station in Riyadh and another site in eastern Iraq are said to have caused repair costs running into billions of dollars.

U.S. officials are also reviewing whether Russian assistance contributed to Iran's drone capabilities or targeting data. The Pentagon has previously estimated that the broader conflict, which began after a joint U.S.-Israel strike on Iran in late February, has already cost the United States tens of billions of dollars, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth telling Congress that $37.5 billion has been spent and an additional $67 billion is required.

The war has also impacted the U.S. economy, with gasoline prices rising to $4.10 per gallon following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The Pentagon reports that 18 U.S. service members have been killed and hundreds wounded.

Iran has faced extensive strikes from the United States, which claims to have targeted more than 13,000 locations across the country. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced new sanctions against Iran, and the Iranian rial has fallen to a record low against the dollar. Diplomatic efforts to end the conflict have so far been unsuccessful.
