Jacob Elordi Leads Ridley Scott's Post-Apocalyptic Film "The Dog Stars"

Resumen

The new Ridley Scott movie follows mechanic-turned-survivor Hig, played by Jacob Elordi, as he navigates a pandemic-ravaged world in search of hope, aided by a dog and a small group of allies.

Jacob Elordi stars as Hig, a former mechanic who lost his pregnant wife and puppy to a deadly virus that has decimated most of humanity. Set in 2035, the film shows Hig operating from a deserted airstrip in Colorado, flying a yellow Cessna to deliver supplies to a nearby Mennonite community while hoping to reach a rumored safe haven in Grand Junction.

Elordi’s character is joined by military-survivalist Bangley, portrayed by Josh Brolin, who distrusts any remaining humanity and battles roaming gangs known as Reapers.

During a fuel shortage, Hig lands near a farmhouse where he meets Pops (Guy Pearce) and his daughter Cima (Margaret Qualley). The trio later attempts a daring take-off as the Reapers close in.

The film, adapted from Peter Heller’s 2012 novel, features cinematography by Erik Messerschmidt and a score by Harry Gregson-Williams. It marks a slower-paced entry for veteran director Ridley Scott, emphasizing character development over the action-heavy style of his recent epics.
