Rams prepare roster scenarios as Aaron Donald's return remains undecided

Los Angeles Rams are finalizing their preseason roster while defensive tackle Aaron Donald has not confirmed whether he will return to play. Coach Sean McVay said the team is preparing two versions of the 53-player roster—one that includes Donald and another that does not.

"If he decides he wants to be able to do it, then the next conversations are: What is your ramp-up? What does it look like to approach whenever that would be the first time that we think we make the most sense for him to impact and make a positive change with us?" McVay told reporters on Tuesday. He added that the organization must remain flexible, emphasizing a day-by-day approach as they approach the season start in 16 days. Donald, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, has not played since the 2023 season and began contemplating a return after the Rams acquired another former Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.
