Rosie O'Donnell Responds to White House Insult with Mirror Joke
Comedian Rosie O'Donnell posted a photo of President Donald Trump with a caption that turned his “slob” remark back on him, continuing a decades-long public feud.
Rosie O'Donnell posted a picture of President Donald Trump taken at his Florida golf resort in 2024, adding the caption, "This is the guy calling me a slob #mirrormirror." The image, which had drawn online attention for Trump’s raised trousers and flattened hair under his hat, was shared after the White House described O'Donnell as a "nasty woman" and a "total slob" in response to her jokes on a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
During the Kimmel segment, O'Donnell mocked Trump’s relationship with his 35-year-old special assistant, Natalie Harp, suggesting she "tucks him in" at night, a joke that followed a question from Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff about the president’s travel priorities. The White House also accused O'Donnell of suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
The exchange is part of a rivalry that began in 2006 when O'Donnell, then a co-host of The View, first publicly clashed with Trump. The two have exchanged insults repeatedly over the years. After Trump’s 2024 re-election, O'Donnell relocated to Ireland, though the president has continued to reference her in public statements.
O'Donnell, known for her work as a comedian, actress, and former daytime talk-show host, also performed a satirical rendition of "Danny Boy" on Kimmel, using the song to criticize Trump’s presidency. She previously claimed that ABC blocked another parody she intended to air because of copyright concerns.
