Simon Cowell's AGT Absence Linked to Routine Back Surgery
Simon Cowell will miss several weeks of "America's Got Talent" filming for a routine procedure to treat back injuries from a 2020 accident.
Simon Cowell is stepping away from "America's Got Talent" for a short period while he undergoes a routine medical procedure to address persistent back problems. The surgery is related to injuries sustained in a 2020 electric-bike accident and is not indicative of a new or serious health issue. Cowell is expected to return to the show after his recovery period.
"The procedure is routine and linked to his 2020 electric-bike accident, not a new or serious health concern," a spokesperson said.
The show will continue filming without him during his absence.
