Harris County Sheriff closes investigation into death of Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver's son
Texas authorities said the investigation into the near-two-year-old's death found no criminal activity, and the case has been closed.
Houston authorities announced Monday that the investigation into the death of defensive tackle Ed Oliver's son has been closed, with detectives finding no criminal evidence, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The boy, who was almost two years old, was discovered unresponsive in a swimming pool in late June. The Buffalo Bills confirmed the tragedy on Saturday after a report surfaced the previous day. Quarterback Josh Allen expressed disappointment that details of the incident were released before Oliver was prepared to discuss the matter.
"The incident was thoroughly investigated by detectives, and their finding [was] no criminal findings," the sheriff’s office said. "The case is now closed," the statement added.
