Washington County sheriff identifies five victims in rural homicide case

Résumé

Five victims have been identified in a quintuple homicide at a Forest Grove property, and the suspect was later found dead in Enumclaw, Washington.

Washington County officials have identified the five people whose bodies were discovered at a rural property on Northwest Otis Lane in Forest Grove. The victims are Mary Elizabeth Kimsey, 85, of Portland; Rowan Karla Kimsey, 60, of Forest Grove, who owned the home; Stella Jade Kimsey, 26, of Forest Grove; Linsey Mae Haraldsen, 26, of Portland; and Alvin Raymond Chu, 27, of Portland. Stella Kimsey lived at the residence with her boyfriend, Benjamin Parker, who investigators have named as the suspect.

Haraldsen was described as Stella Kimsey’s best friend, and Chu was Haraldsen’s partner. In addition to the human fatalities, two cats and two dogs were found dead on the property; a third cat was taken for veterinary care but was euthanized due to severe injuries. Livestock from the site has been rehomed, and the sheriff’s office has notified the victims’ families.

Parker was later located in Enumclaw, Washington, where he was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle that belonged to one of the victims. Law enforcement said the car contained no additional weapons, but evidence from the scene has been sent to Washington County for further analysis. Investigators traced Parker’s cell phone pings to Enumclaw and used license-plate data from a local camera system to determine his movements before his death.

Firefighters from Forest Grove were the first responders to the scene on Saturday after a car fire was reported, discovering at least two of the victims. The sheriff’s office plans to hold a news conference on Monday, Aug. 25, to provide further details.
