Eagles Day 15 Training Camp Highlights Include Makai Lemon's Return and Defensive Standouts

Summary

The Philadelphia Eagles held a light practice on Monday, noting the full recovery of wide receiver Makai Lemon and strong performances from defensive tackles Moro Ojomo and Jalyx Hunt ahead of their public session on Tuesday.

Philadelphia – The Eagles conducted a shortened practice on Monday at the Jefferson Health Training Complex, focusing on first-team reps while limiting work for second-string units. Wide receiver Makai Lemon, who had missed time with a hamstring strain, was cleared from the injury report and participated fully in both 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills. DeVonta Smith also returned to full activity after a similar hamstring issue.

The team’s injury list for the day included several players designated as not practicing, such as offensive tackle Markel Bell (thumb/leg) and cornerback Jakorian Bennett (knee), while others like wide receiver Danny Gray and running back Dameon Pierce were listed as limited. Prior to practice, safety J.T. Gray was released and running back Ja'Quinden Jackson was waived/injured following an ambulance removal in New England.

Quarterback depth remained in flux, with Tanner McKee starting the day as the second-string option before Andy Dalton received some repetitions. In the receiving corps, the top three receivers in drills were DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks and Makai Lemon, with additional snaps for Elijah Moore and Darius Cooper. The offensive line’s first-team unit featured Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen and Lane Johnson; the second team saw Myles Hinton, Micah Morris, Zeke Correll, Drew Kendall and Fred Johnson, with Jake Majors rotating at right guard.

Defensively, tackle Moro Ojomo recorded two sacks on Jalen Hurts while facing the first-team line, and fellow defender Jalyx Hunt added a sack and a tackle for loss against running back Tank Bigsby. Both were highlighted for their impact during the session.

In the passing game, Hurts connected with Hollywood Brown on a deep route before being pressured by Jordan Davis, and later delivered a deep throw to Brown that fell incomplete. A notable play involved Dontayvion Wicks securing a catch in 7-on-7 drills and later making a sideline reception after a well-executed block by Smith.

The practice also featured a play where tight end Dallas Goedert served as a lead blocker for running back Saquon Barkley, a potential new wrinkle for the offense. Barkley displayed solid vision and cut ability on several runs.

The Eagles will hold their only public practice of the summer on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field as the team approaches the start of the regular season.
