Houston received wide receiver Kayshon Boutte from New England for safety Jaylen Reed and a 2028 seventh-round pick, while the Patriots added the draft selection.
Houston traded for rookie wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, sending safety Jaylen Reed and a 2028 seventh-round draft pick to New England. The move was reported by Tom Pelissero of TheRinger.com, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport confirming the pick originated from the New Orleans Saints. Boutte, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, recorded 33 receptions for 551 yards and six touchdowns in 14 regular-season games last season, adding nine catches for 168 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ four postseason contests. Reed, a sixth-round pick in 2025, appeared in seven games for Houston, primarily on special teams, tallying 14 tackles and a fumble recovery. The trade gives the Texans a receiver to bolster their roster after an injury to Jayden Higgins, while the Patriots receive a future draft asset.
