Documentary on Gaza Conflict Set for Venice Premiere

Resumen

The Guardian-produced documentary NAZA, directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, will debut at the Venice Film Festival and compete for the Golden Lion.

A documentary examining Israel's air campaign in Gaza will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Titled NAZA, the film is directed by Oscar-winning filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor and produced by the Guardian, with Jim Wilson as producer and Jonathan Glazer as executive producer. NAZA is the sole documentary selected to compete for the festival's Golden Lion award. Abraham and Szor previously co-directed the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land. The filmmakers said the film was shot at night from Tel Aviv rooftops and aims to detail the mechanisms behind civilian casualties in Gaza. The Guardian noted that NAZA references an Israeli military acronym used to estimate civilian deaths in airstrikes. The documentary incorporates investigative reporting from 2023 to 2025 by the +972 network, the Hebrew-language outlet Local Call, and the Guardian.
