Five People and Several Animals Found Dead in Rural Oregon Home

Washington County officials confirmed that five individuals were found dead Saturday at a remote house on Northwest Otis Lane, a dead-end street outside Forest Grove, Oregon. Firefighters responding to a vehicle fire reported suspicious circumstances, prompting a multi-agency investigation that has so far identified the deaths as homicides.

Detective Shannon Wilde of the county sheriff’s office told reporters that the victims were "murdered" and that several domesticated animals were also found dead, though the exact number and species have not been disclosed. No arrests have been made, and detectives do not believe the incident was a random act of violence.

Sheriff Caprice Massey said the scene is unusually complex and that investigators have deployed all available resources, including the major crimes team, forensic labs, a drone, and specialized units such as a remotely operated vehicle team and tactical negotiations team. She urged anyone with information about the residents or the property to contact non-emergency dispatch and reference case number 50-26-11866.

Fire and rescue officials reported that the initial vehicle fire occurred around 5 a.m. on Saturday, and dispatch audio indicated at least two victims were present before law enforcement arrived. A reverse 911 alert was briefly issued to nearby residents.

The investigation remains active, with law enforcement maintaining a strong presence in the area and continuing to seek information from the public.
