Jaguars close training camp with offensive line lineup and defensive highlights

Résumé

On day 17 of Jacksonville Jaguars training camp, the starting offensive line appeared set for Week 1, while rookie tight end Nate Boerkircher and defensive tackle Matt Dickerson made notable plays.

The Jacksonville Jaguars wrapped up the final week of training camp on Sunday, showcasing a starting offensive line that could define the unit for the opening game against the Cleveland Browns. Coach Liam Coen fielded Anton Harrison at left tackle, Emmanuel Pregnon at left guard, Robert Hainsey at center, Ezra Cleveland at right guard and Walker Little at right tackle, with the only remaining question being the availability of Cole Van Lanen for the right tackle spot.

The backup line, listed from left to right as Ricky Lee, Daniele Faalele, Jonah Monheim, Wyatt Milum and Chuma Edoga, also saw reps, but the starters received the majority of the snaps.

Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who suffered a hand injury in a recent joint practice, was absent from the field. Coach Coen said, "We will have to see. He kind of jammed it. We will have to see where it is at when we get to Tuesday and just kinda see. I don’t want to push it too much."

In his place, rookie receivers Josh Cameron and CJ Williams received significant playing time with quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Defensive back Travis Hunter continued to be used primarily at cornerback, receiving no offensive 11-on-11 reps on day 17, indicating the team’s intention to rely on him more on defense early in the season.

Rookie tight end Nate Boerkircher had a productive session in 7-on-7 drills, catching several passes in the red zone and drawing praise for his route-running and ability to secure the ball under contact.

Defensive tackle Matt Dickerson recorded a standout play, intercepting a screen pass intended for Lawrence and returning it for a touchdown, a performance that reinforces his prospects for the 53-man roster.

The practice emphasized passing over the running game, with limited pads worn, and featured contributions from players such as running back Bhayshul Tuten, who caught multiple passes out of the backfield, and defensive back Jourdan Lewis, who broke up several passes.
