Worcester police issue arrest warrant for officer's wife in connection with his death
An arrest warrant was issued for Karen Solomon, the wife of off-duty Worcester police officer Kurt Solomon, who was found dead earlier this week. Police continue a multi-agency search near Coes Reservoir.
Police announced Friday that an arrest warrant has been issued for Karen Solomon, 58, in connection with the death of her husband, Worcester Police Patrolman Kurt Solomon, 57. The warrant cites assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and officials described Solomon as considered armed and dangerous.
Kurt Solomon, a 31-year veteran of the force and father of two, was discovered deceased inside a residence early Tuesday. While investigators did not disclose further details, Police Chief Paul Saucier said the injuries involved a "sharp object" and that the officer's service weapon was still present.
Search operations, involving Worcester police, U.S. Marshals Service, helicopters, divers, sonar equipment and K-9 units, have been ongoing for four days around Coes Reservoir. Surveillance footage captured Karen Solomon walking on a nearby street after the incident. Several public areas near the reservoir, including parks, remain closed as the search continues.
