Las Vegas police say missing Manhattan grandmother Alisa Goods died after collapsing near airport

Summary

Alisa Goods, 63, was found dead in a drainage ditch near a Las Vegas airport 12 days after she vanished; surveillance video captured her falling and collapsing on August 8.

Las Vegas Metro Police said surveillance footage showed 63-year-old Alisa Goods falling down an embankment, getting up and then collapsing on Aug. 8. No further movement was recorded, and her body was discovered in a drainage ditch near the airport on Aug. 20 at about 1:45 a.m.

Goods, a Manhattan resident visiting a longtime friend on the Las Vegas Strip, had left the friend’s residence to shop at a nearby pharmacy before she disappeared. The friend, Roger John, was not treated as a suspect and assisted authorities during the search.

Family members said Goods had recently undergone multiple leg surgeries. A niece expressed grief, thanking the public for support and requesting privacy as the investigation continues.

The cause of death has not yet been released by officials.
