Teen son of reality TV star arrested in Georgia on alleged sex crime charges
Kroy Biermann Jr., 15, was taken into custody in Alpharetta, Georgia, on charges of aggravated sodomy and sexual battery, while his family maintains his innocence.
Alpharetta police booked 15-year-old Kroy Biermann Jr., the son of former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann, on aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery charges. The booking photo released by the department shows the teen wearing a black T-shirt and appearing expressionless.
According to court filings, a female classmate alleged that the teenager forced himself on her in a co-ed sauna on April 23, attempting to pull down her pants, perform oral sex and digitally penetrate her. The filing states she escaped, sought help at a Starbucks, and later underwent a medical exam that found no male DNA evidence.
Biermann Jr. was taken into custody on Monday and is being held without bond in Fulton County Juvenile Court, with a court appearance scheduled for Sept. 1.
His attorney, Jason Sheffield, told reporters the client is "100% innocent," citing a passed polygraph administered by a noted sex-offender specialist and claiming evidence of prior false allegations by the accuser. He also noted the police report’s lack of DNA findings.
Zolciak issued a statement denying the allegations, saying her son voluntarily took a polygraph and that no DNA from him was found. She warned that false accusations can have serious consequences and urged the public to allow the legal process to proceed.
The family, currently involved in a divorce, co-parents KJ with his father and other children.
