Holloway dismisses McGregor's post-fight excuses after injury TKO at UFC 329

Resumen

Max Holloway criticized Conor McGregor's claims about a slippery entrance following McGregor's knee injury that led to a 69-second TKO loss at UFC 329, and said he is open to future title or rematch opportunities.

Conor McGregor suffered a knee injury from a jumping kick that forced a stoppage 69 seconds into his UFC 329 bout with Max Holloway, resulting in an injury TKO win for Holloway. In the days after the July 11 fight at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena, McGregor suggested the fight be ruled a no-contest, attributing his injury partly to fog used during his entrance and promising a future "generational beating" of Holloway.

"For that dude to be talking about how it was slippery because of the dry ice or whatever, I don't know what he's talking about because I didn't fall," Holloway said in a video posted to his YouTube channel. "Him talking about this 'generational beating,' dude is delusional. Because, to me, he felt slow in there. He felt slow. He looked old. If there was going to be a generational beating, it wasn't going to be on his end."

Holloway added that he felt sorry for fans who paid to attend the event and noted that McGregor appeared weakened from the start. Looking ahead, the 34-year-old former featherweight champion said he is interested in a lightweight or welterweight title shot, or a third fight with McGregor once the Irish fighter is cleared to compete. "If it's a title shot in either weight class, sign ya boy up. If it's a Conor McGregor fight again, I'll sign the dotted line," Holloway said.
