Judge orders supervised visitation for Perez Hilton amid mental-health crisis

Summary

A Florida judge granted Perez Hilton supervised visits with his three children while his mother receives temporary custody, pending psychiatric clearance and a sealed custody case.

A Miami judge has ordered that gossip blogger Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., may see his three children only under supervision. Visits must be overseen by a therapist or a family member approved by both parties, according to court documents obtained by a media outlet. Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, was granted temporary custody, giving her authority over the children’s schooling, medical care and other decisions.

The supervised-visitation order follows a live-streamed self-harm incident on TikTok on Aug. 4, after which Hilton was hospitalized for multiple lacerations and an overdose. A Florida fire-rescue report noted that first responders treated him on scene before transporting him to a medical facility. His sister, Barbara Lavandeira, called police after finding him injured at the home.

Hilton must obtain psychiatric clearance before any visitation can resume, and the arrangement will remain in effect until the court modifies it or the parties agree to a new plan. The judge also sealed the custody case, citing the children’s best interests and the need for privacy.

A representative for Hilton did not respond to requests for comment. Barbara Lavandeira told reporters that Hilton remains hospitalized, receiving ongoing medical and mental-health treatment, and has no access to a cellphone, social media or the internet.
