Meghan Markle may resume acting after returning to the UK
Reports say the Duchess of Sussex has been offered an acting role as she prepares to move back to Britain with her family later this month.
Meghan Markle could return to acting after her planned relocation to the United Kingdom, according to sources close to the couple. The Australian outlet news.com.au reported that an upcoming project offered her a role, which is said to be one factor behind the Sussexes' decision to move back.
No specifics about the role or the production have been confirmed. The family is expected to arrive in Britain before the end of August, with their children set to start school in September. Markle, who played Rachel Zane on the U.S. series Suits for seven seasons, paused her acting career after marrying Prince Harry and last appeared on the show in 2018. She recently made a brief cameo as herself in the comedy Close Personal Friends.
"I don't view quitting acting as giving anything up, but rather as a new chapter," Markle told the BBC after stepping back from her career.
While based in the UK, she also aims to grow her U.S.-based lifestyle and cooking brand, As Ever. The couple will reside in a private, non-royal home outside London, and there are no plans for either of them to resume official royal duties. Prince Harry is also awaiting a court decision on costs related to a recent legal case involving the Daily Mail publisher.
