Jury hears first witness in Lindsay Clancy murder trial before adjournment
Jurors listened to a single witness on Thursday in the Lindsay Clancy case, after which the trial was paused until Friday morning.
Testimony in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial continued Thursday morning, with jurors hearing from one witness before being dismissed for the day. The court will reconvene at 9 a.m. on Friday. The judge had released the jury early on Wednesday, citing an unforeseen circumstance.
Prosecutors allege that Lindsay Clancy strangled her three children—Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months—on Jan. 24, 2023, in their Duxbury, Massachusetts home after sending her husband, Patrick, out on errands. After the killings, Clancy is said to have jumped from a second-story window, resulting in paralysis from the waist down.
The defense argues that Clancy was experiencing bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis at the time of the incident and should not be held criminally responsible.
"The jury will be dismissed for the day and will return on Friday at 9 a.m.," the judge instructed at the close of proceedings.
