Eagles and Patriots Hold First Joint Practice at Philadelphia Training Camp

सारांश

The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots conducted the first of two joint practices, featuring wide receiver A.J. Brown and a series of one-on-one drills that highlighted offensive line performance and mixed results for the quarterbacks.

Philadelphia – Day 13 of the Eagles' training camp included the first joint practice with the New England Patriots, marking the start of a two-day series of combined drills. Wide receiver A.J. Brown faced Eagles defensive back Quinyon Mitchell in a one-on-one matchup, catching a pass before Mitchell stripped the ball. Brown later succeeded on routes against Patriots cornerback Riq Woolen, including a crosser, a quick slant and a fade route along the right sideline.

The Eagles' offensive line dominated most of their individual matchups, with six of the seven starters recording clean sweeps against Patriots defenders. Lane Johnson handled Elijah Ponder, Tyler Steen beat Christian Barmore, Cam Jurgens outperformed Cory Durden, Jordan Mailata shut down Dre'Mont Jones, Drew Kendall defeated Leonard Taylor, Isaiah Iton and Casey Rodgers, and Markel Bell prevailed over Quintayvious Hutchins and Jesse Luketa. The only recorded loss was Landon Dickerson to Milton Williams.

On the offensive side, quarterback Jalen Hurts connected on several deep passes, including a corner route to Elijah Moore and long completions to running back Will Shipley. The Patriots' defense adjusted as the session progressed, applying more pressure that forced Hurts into a few interceptions during 7-on-7 drills. Shipley posted a notable performance with a touchdown on a wheel route and additional long receptions.

Other participants included rookie running back Dontayvion Wicks, who found openings in a hurry-up drill, and wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who took part in individual drills but did not play in the 11-on-11 scrimmage. Patriots cornerback Riq Woolen, previously highlighted in spring sessions, struggled on several routes against Eagles receivers.

Patriots head coach Vic Fangio made a comment regarding safety Ty Robinson, aligning with earlier reports about the player's summer performance. Eagles personnel decisions remain under the direction of general manager Howie Roseman.
