David Krumholtz Says He Is Pausing Acting Career, Not Retiring
Actor David Krumholtz clarified on social media that he is temporarily stepping back from acting to focus on personal well-being, without announcing retirement.
David Krumholtz, known for roles in "Supergirl" and "Oppenheimer," used Instagram on Wednesday to explain that he has not retired but is putting his acting career on hold. He said he feels a strong desire to devote more of his time to helping others and needs a break to address personal challenges.
"I am very well and I feel very loved," Krumholtz wrote, adding that the support he has received has been "deeply heartwarming." He described the pressure of his ambitions as "oppressive" and said his mental health and family are priorities.
He also posted a now-deleted message on Threads earlier in the week, noting that fear of financial insecurity had delayed his decision and that continuing to audition for roles he considered exploitative would not be sustainable. Krumholtz indicated that he plans to return to work in the future, with more projects to be released.
The actor, who has also appeared in "The Studio" and "Pokerface," has previously expressed uncertainty about his career path, once mentioning a possible job at a car dealership to a friend.
