David Krumholtz said he is pausing his acting career to focus on his mental health and personal goals, emphasizing that he has not retired but is taking an indefinite break.

David Krumholtz, known for roles in "Supergirl" and "Oppenheimer," posted on Instagram that he is stepping back from acting for an indefinite period. He said he is in good health and feels supported, but described the pressure of his career ambitions as increasingly burdensome.

"I never used the word ‘retiring’ or ‘quitting.’ Instead, I said that I decided to put my career on hold," Krumholtz wrote.

He explained that the decision stems from a desire to protect his mental health and to devote more time to helping others, noting that his recent feelings of frustration and fear of financial instability prompted him to send a formal notice to his representatives.

"Need time to figure that out, let it heal. My mental health is vital to my family," he added.

Krumholtz said he remains grateful for the support he has received and hinted that future projects may still be released, but asked fans to give him space while he reassesses his priorities.
