Senator Ossoff criticizes Trump aide Natalie Harp as example of presidential sycophancy

Resumen

Sen. Jon Ossoff accused President Trump of surrounding himself with loyal aides, citing special assistant Natalie Harp, who has a history of personal devotion to the president.

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) said President Donald Trump relies on aides who act as a “security blanket” and described them as “sycophants.” He highlighted Natalie Harp, a 35-year-old former One America News anchor who now serves as a special and executive assistant to the president. Harp first attracted Trump’s attention in 2019 after she credited him with helping her obtain experimental treatment for bone cancer. During the 2024 campaign she worked for Trump and was reportedly nicknamed “the human printer” for carrying a printer to provide the president with printed materials.

The White House press office described Harp as “one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump’s team.”

Harp’s brother, Preston Harp, told CNN that his sister has long been fascinated with presidents and that she has written letters expressing personal devotion to them.

"She’s written letters to other presidents, let me put it that way. And so, like, her dream finally came true," he said.

The comments come amid broader scrutiny of the president’s inner circle and the role of personal loyalty in his administration.
