Taylor Sheridan confirms "6666" spin-off will not be produced

Resumen

The creator of "Yellowstone" said the planned Paramount+ series about Texas's Four Sixes Ranch has been cancelled, citing concerns about fictionalizing a working ranch.

Taylor Sheridan told the Rodeo Time podcast that the previously announced Paramount+ spin-off centered on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas will not be produced. He said, "There's never going to be one. I would never fictionalize that ranch. People thought that that was going to be a thing, but I would never do that." Sheridan, who purchased the real-life ranch in 2020 with investors, explained that he does not want to "trivialize" a working operation by inventing drama or fictional lives for the people who live and work there. He added that protecting the ranch’s legacy is a responsibility he takes seriously. Paramount+ had greenlit the series in February 2021, planning to have Sheridan and several producers oversee the project. The show was to follow the character Jimmy Hurdstrom, played by Jefferson White, after his appearance at the ranch in the final episode of "Yellowstone" season four. Sheridan said he had compiled the existing footage of the character’s scenes into a short narrative, but ultimately decided against moving forward. The network had previously released a promotional logline describing the ranch’s historic significance. While the "6666" project is shelved, Paramount+ confirmed that other series in the franchise, including "Dutton Ranch" and "Marshals," will continue with new seasons later this year.
