Google raises Pixel 11 prices by about $100 across all models

Google's latest Pixel 11 lineup launches with price increases of roughly $100 compared with the previous generation, prompting criticism over reduced value for flagship buyers.

Google unveiled its Pixel 11 series on Wednesday, introducing a range of new features such as the HiLight interface, AI-driven updates like Rambler, and camera enhancements including Pro Stable Video and Magic Capture. However, the launch also brought uniform price hikes of about $100 (or £80) for each model compared with the Pixel 10 lineup. The standard Pixel 11 now costs $899/£879, the Pixel 11 Pro $1,099/£1,079, the Pro XL $1,299/£1,279, and the Pixel 11 Fold $1,899/£1,799, up from $799/£799, $999/£999, $1,199/£1,199 and $1,799/£1,749 respectively.

Industry observers note that the price increase narrows the former cost advantage Pixel phones held over competitors such as Samsung and Apple. The Pixel 11 now starts at the same price point as Samsung's Galaxy S26, while Apple’s iPhone 17 remains the cheapest flagship among the three major brands at $799. Analysts attribute part of the rise to broader component cost pressures, including RAM shortages linked to the growth of generative AI technologies, and suggest Google could have absorbed more of these costs to keep prices lower for consumers.

"Google’s advertising encourages users to ‘ask more of your phone,’" one commentator wrote, adding that maintaining affordable pricing is a reasonable expectation for buyers seeking flagship-level devices without premium premiums.
