Strawweight contender Gillian Robertson said Din Thomas' apology for announcing his departure from cornering fighters was insincere, after he publicly suggested she had reached the limit of her career following her UFC 330 loss.

Strawweight fighter Gillian Robertson, who lost a unanimous decision to Mackenzie Dern at UFC 330, said she found Din Thomas' apology for his on-air comments about her career to be "empty." Thomas, Robertson's coach since she was a teenager, announced on the UFC 330 post-fight broadcast that he was stepping away from cornering fighters, saying Robertson had gone "as far as she could go" in MMA. The remarks, made during a live stream on Paramount+, drew criticism for appearing to blame Robertson shortly after her title-fight defeat.

Thomas later addressed the controversy on his "Deep Waters" podcast, expressing regret for his statements. Robertson told journalist Ariel Helwani via text that she had not been warned about the broadcast announcement and that Thomas' subsequent apology, delivered in a voice message, lacked substance. She said she had not responded to the apology because of comments Thomas made privately to her team after the broadcast, which led her to doubt its sincerity.

When asked whether she would continue working with Thomas, Robertson, who has not yet commented on the future of their professional relationship, noted that Thomas clarified he was ending his role as a cornerman but would remain a coach. Robertson entered UFC 330 on a five-fight winning streak and currently trains at GOAT Shed in Miami after a long tenure at American Top Team.
