Jets say running back Breece Hall will be ready for season opener despite recent groin strain
New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn announced that Breece Hall, who suffered a groin strain in practice, is expected to return in time for the team's Week 1 game.
New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said the team expects running back Breece Hall to be available for the season opener on Sept. 13 in Nashville, despite a groin strain he sustained during Monday's practice. Glenn indicated Hall will miss two to three weeks of training but should be cleared for Week 1. Quarterback Geno Smith expressed relief at the news, noting Hall's importance to the offense and team leadership. Hall, 25, signed a three-year, $43.5 million contract in the offseason after posting a 1,000-yard rushing season with four touchdowns last year. His deal gives him the eighth-highest average annual salary among NFL running backs at $14.5 million per year.
