An American Airlines Boeing 737-800 experienced a tire failure on landing at Chicago O'Hare, prompting evacuation via airstairs and a temporary runway closure; no injuries were reported.

An American Airlines Boeing 737-800 blew two tires while landing at Chicago O'Hare International Airport at about 2 p.m. local time on Monday. The aircraft, operating flight 386 from LaGuardia Airport, was evacuated on the taxiway using airstairs, and passengers were later transported to the terminal by bus, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and the airline. The plane has been removed from service for inspections. The FAA said it will investigate the incident. A United Airlines flight also reported blown tires at O'Hare on the same day, leading to a temporary runway closure and brief disruptions for other flights. Both airlines confirmed that no injuries occurred.

"We thank our team members for their professionalism and we apologize to our customers for their experience," American Airlines said in a statement.
